Bah

There's really nothing much to say.
My Grandma had some tests done, they came back. She does have some blockage, but she's to weak to have surgery so for now they have her on meds to help, which they are. So that's good. My mom gets her cast off on Friday(tomorrow). She's looking forward to that, but she still wont have full fuction, she has to wear a walking boot next.
I've decided that I really don't like Christmas Break, my kids have been evil little brats since they've been out. We've gone past the point of them driving me nuts, they are now driving the grandparents nuts and you know when you get to that point, there is a problem. After all Grandma and Grandpa are supposed to be more patient and understanding then mommy and daddy.....

My first 5K is on Saturday and while I'm not nervous about placing or anything, it's just the matter of stepping out of my comfort zone and doing something that I've never done before. It's one thing to tell people that you run but it's something else to actually get out there and do it where others can see you. It will be fun though.

And now for the song of what is turning out to be the week.....
It's a Morrissey cover sung by AFI and the song is called "Jack the Ripper"
it's on the B-side of DecemberUnderground....... I've listened to both versions and though I like Morrissey, I like AFI's version of this song better...... I'm a bit biased though, I love AFI.

AFI LYRICS
"Jack The Ripper"
[Originally by Morrissey]

oh, you look so tired
mouth slack & wide
ill-housed & ill-advised
your face is as mean
as your life has been
so, crash into my arms
i want you
you don't agree,
but you don't refuse
i know you
and i know a place
where no one is likely to pass
you don't care if it's late
and you don't care if you're lost
and oh, you look so tired
but tonight, you presumed too much
too much
too much
and if it's the last thing i'll ever do,
i'm gonna get you
crash into my arms
i want you
you don't agree,
but you don't refuse
i know you
oh, crash into my arms
i want youyou don't agree
but you don't refuse
i know you

And there you have it. If you can though I would suggest listening to both versions. I love the way Davey sings it. I wish that they would make a video for it..... I think it would be yummy. I bought AFI's music DVD this week. And all I can say is OHMYGOD!!OHMYGOD!!OHMYGOD!!! along with much squeeling, after all I am a fan girl. I also bought a HIM music DVD that I didn't have, which turned out to be five hours of yummyness..... I've watched it once, watched AFI's four or five times, haven't watched the interviews or special stuff, just the concert. One day I will get to see AFI in a show of thier own, I've seen them at Warped but it's just not the same. I want to see HIM again too. One day......

Till next time.....

Things come in threes....

I've known for some time that most things happen in threes and low and behold....
My Grandma had a small heart attack in early November, she was in the hospital for about a week, the week that I was originaly going to go and visit her (she lives in Oregon), my mom went with my youngest sister to visit my middle sister in Utah. They had only been there for a few hours when my mom took a tumble down my sisters stairs. She not only broke the same ankle that she had broke about twently years ago, she also dislocated it. She is back home and has been for a while, although she is stuck in a wheel chair until sometime in January. Then I got a phone call the other day from my mom about my Grandma (the same one from before), she is back in the hospital for tests.... she's been having chest pains and they want to know why. Not only that though, but my dad fell and broke his hip, he lives in Florida so the likelyhood of anyone seeing him is slim to none...... but dang, when it rains it pours as the saying goes.
I just hope that that's the end of this run of luck for now. And am glad that it didn't effect my kids or my hubby or even I and that my mom's not that serious..... I just hope that things with my Grandma get resolved in her favor, I'm not ready to loose her......

HOORAY!!!!!!

I've reached one of my long term goals and so the next step in it is closer and that pleases me to no end. I've lost between forty and fifty pounds since around June/July of this year. Most of that, well, pretty much all of that came off with running. I lost the last twenty pounds or so since taking it back up with Corinna. My ultimate goal of course is that size eight and it's getting closer, I'm now half way there. I'm back into my 16 jeans. That means I've gone from a 22/20 down to a 16 in five or six months, not bad at all....
So hooray for me!!
And now I get socks for my reward, but not any normal kind of socks, nope! I get running socks, the brand I love is Smartwool... they don't itch, they wick moisture away from my feel and I love the way they feel. Eventually I won't own any more cotton socks, there is a HUGE difference between them, one that I don't like. I can't wait.
This Friday, Corinna and I are going to go and register for the two races that we have planned that are coming up. After looking over a schedule, there are five others that I would like to do, we shall see though.
But for now, I must go...
